Welcome to the Barn at the mill
Background
The Barn at The Mill is a tranquil holiday retreat nestled in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, bordering Wales. The property was converted from a working barn to a luxury self catered holiday let over 20 years ago. Three generations of our family have hosted guests from my grandparents, when it was originally converted, to my parents who took over and refurbished the property in 2018. We took over in 2023 and expanded our on-line presence.
We have good road and rail links to major local towns and cities such as Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Wrexham and Chester. In contrast to these towns and cities, our little part of the countryside is quiet and peaceful with many local species of wildlife and livestock contributing to the rich biodiversity of the area.
We have received glowing feedback from our guests which has allowed us to evolve our bespoke guest experience. We take pride in making sure that the property is clean and presented to an excellent standard.

The Barn has a log-burner that adds to your rural experience and to the character of the property. There is a gas fired central heating system for modern convenience
We have a small stream located at the bottom of the property, which occasionally hosts ducks and herons while buzzards and red kites can be seen flying overhead.
Access to our property can be difficult due to the wide geographical area of our postcode. We can be accessed via a private lane in a layby just off the main road. Please see the Payment and Arrival section for more information on our location.
